Welcome to Planinski Kvintet.com, the official website of "Planinski Kvintet". Based in Toronto Ontario, Planinski Kvintet is one of North America's very few authentic Oberkrainer style ensembles. Popularized by Slavko Avsenik, Oberkrainer is a style based on traditional Slovenian folk music. Music has always been a very important part of Slovenian culture, and Planinski Kvintet seeks to preserve that heritage by keeping the music alive.

Planinski Kvintet has travelled North America and Europe, sharing our music with as many people as possible. Slovenian music is in our hearts, and this fact shows through at every performance.
